Program objectives

Electric and hybrid heavy vehicle mechanics work in many different types of businesses, including component manufacturers (engines, transmissions, etc.), new and used heavy vehicle dealers and merchants, heavy vehicle rental services, independent aftermarket machine shops, road and passenger transport companies (school buses and coaches), as well as businesses operating heavy vehicle maintenance and repair shops.

Admission conditions

To be eligible for admission to the Electric and Hybrid Heavy Vehicles Mechanics program leading to an STC, candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
1. Have obtained a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) or its equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
or
2. Practise an occupation or a trade related to this program of study
or
3. Have been granted recognition of equivalent learning
